Kaamos Night Stands

The Kaamos Night Stands were commissioned as a matching pair for a master bedroom in London, designed to sit either side of a king-sized bed. The name Kaamos is Finnish for the polar night, reflecting the influence that my 15 years living in Finland continues to have on my furniture and design.

The pair celebrates the remarkable variety and character found within locally sourced Scottish oak. Pippy oak drawer fronts are combined with figured and fumigated oak carcasses and solid oak drawer boxes, bringing together contrasting grain, figuring and tones within a simple, understated form.

Made as a pair, the night stands complement one another while allowing the natural variations in the timber to give each piece its own individual character.
